Constantine, Cornwall
This is a lovely little spot to escape to, with wholesome garden growths and quirky features, there is plenty exploring to be had. Whether its unwinding and finding some time to yourself, or catching up with friends over a fresh juice and food straight from the gardens, I promise you will be captured in its little net of wonder.
There is a large vegetable garden with great seasonal beauties, decorative and striking plants scattered about also. Chickens run in one of the lower lawns and there is something new around every leafy corner. The menu changes as to what veg has been grown, it is a simple menu but you can trust that it will all be fresh and delicious. The lunch menu consists of a soup, a frittata, a bruschetta and a mezze, all which change regularly and brighten up your plate in new ways. The cooked breakfast is a favourite, again simple, but delivering a mouthful of flavours, which you can enjoy with local fresh Yallah coffee, made in the nearby village of Mabe.
There are an array of locally made pots and ceramics, paintings and prints available to buy and even a few artists’ studios hidden away on the grounds of the gardens to explore. A sweet addition to the wonderfully warming glass conservatory that forms the main eating area, is a rustic table with succulents, cacti and a few other plants and pots for sale.
You could easily spend a day here, bring a book, play some table tennis, badminton or fall blissfully asleep in one of the colourful hammocks and watch as time falls away. A beautiful place and experience rooted on admirable lifestyle values, with fresh, delicious and colourful foods, the escapist’s dream.
